The Frozen Forest

This is a place not many wolves go to, without a very important reason, this forest has several deadly icicle that can kill a wolf, also little shelter and several predators. Beware

I awaken from a deep sleep. I walk out of my small shelter. I look at the early morning light. I howl a deep long flowing howl, so powerful and ehilerating its scary.

I walk toward the hunting grounds. I rub my scent on various trees and branches as I go along.

~Hunting Grounds~

Walks slowly around the forest fur lightly standing from nerves of being alone out here. Being careful to look for human traps and the long dangling icicles. Her muzzle softly raising to scent the air for anything more dangerous.

Re-enters the forest sensing someone else. I think to my self 'No one else ever comes out here...It must be a loner' I howl a long and deep warning howl to the stranger.

Flicks her ears back and lightly lashes her tail at the sound and lowers her body trying to hide unsure if she could out run or over power the other wolf. Who didn't sound far off.

I pick up the strangers scent. I start tracking the stranger at a speedy but steady pace being sure to remain absolutely silent and stealthy.

She stays silent and flicks her ears regretting not covering her tracks well as she walked hunkering down low and hoping the falling snow would cover her up well enough to be hidden from the other wolf she knew would arrive soon

I see the female wolf through the thick trees and snow. My deep colored fur helps me blend into the dark night. I walk closer to the stranger female.

Lowers her ears and tries not to breath so my breath wouldn't be seen in the cold of night her eyes finding it hard to find the moving wolf and second guesses and sprints off not sure in the direction just running, her lean long body making her run faster than an average wolf panting and trying to avoid most the tries. Before paying attention something snaps on her hind leg and she falls yelping loudly and growling in a panic biting at the human trap around her hind leg whimpering and yelping at it cuts deep into her skin. She continues to struggle in a panic wanting to get away from the strange would not knowing if it's friendly or dangerous.

I run to the female hearing her yelp in pain. I walk up to her and see the trap. I tell her to calm down. I press hard on the trap it snaps open.

She crawls away from the trap and licks her leg whimpering and curling her tail under in fear. Her ears back slightly scared of the large male wolf.

"I'm not gonna hurt you, just curious why your out here all alone" I say to her softly. I throw the trap to the side.

Her ears push forward as she clean her leg whining softly and looks at the wolf "just wondering around." Solstice murmurs

"Hear I can help" I say to her putting snow on it " the snow will clean it out"

Whines softly and gently shakes feeling the cold snow and watches slightenly. Gently nodding "thank you."

" no problem" I tell the female. " But really what brings you out here to my neck of the woods?"

"Didn't know they were your woods. I told you I was just wondering around the woods." She murmurs and tries to stand pulling her right hind leg close to her body whining and gently hops on her three legs to walk slightly away worried

"Come to my den to rest, you need to try not to walk" I tell her nodding toward the darker part of the forest where my small den awaits.

Her ears pull back "I dont know, I don't want to be an issue to you." Her eyes watch yours to make sure you were serious, looking and nods slowly limping toward where you said your den was

I walk next to her letting her lean on me so she doesn't fall. I guide her toward my den.

Limps with him leaning into him her ears moving around to listen for anything more that might of heard her yelps worried she may of gave away their position in the Forrest. Gently her eyes watch him as he walks curious on why he lives out here

We arrive at a darkened thicket. I move the branches to reveal a semi-large area covered in rabbit fur and pine needles

She slowly limps in and slowly lays down whimpering slightly and licking her leg again and looks up at the large wolf putting her ears back "thank you."

" you are new to the forest I am going to treat you with kindness." I say to her and I enter my den
